About the Program

Having achieved outstanding results with the program's pilot (CAPP), we now look to build upon our success and provide even more opportunities for Queen's soon-to-be graduates and the Kingston business community. Our target this year is match up to 35 students with 35 Kingston companies.

Candidates will be offered a one-year commitment of full-time employment with a Kingston company based on pre-established criteria that will include the program's commitment to financially support part of the final salary.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

Students in their final year of undergraduate studies (year 3 or 4) in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

MENTORSHIP AND SUPPORT

Each CAPP business partner and CAPP student will be assigned a mentor. This is a mandatory aspect of the program and intended to ensure communication between our business partners, students and to help CAPP gain an understanding of what is being done to ensure the success of the new hires, especially during the initial four-month apprenticeship. It is also important as part of the program to document lessons learned and best practices for the following years.

Mentors will meet in person or by telephone/skype/FaceTime with the intent of scheduling bi-weekly during the first 90 days, monthly meetings will be held for the balance of the year.

FUNDING

The pilot is being funded by a private donation from the Alan Rottenberg Family Foundation.
